Paranormal phenomena and sightings in Niddry's Wynd

 

 

The spirit of a young lady holding a baby is seen disappearing through a bricked up doorway.

Children dressed in rags are seen playing in the darkness at the bottom of Niddry Wynd.

A man who has been nicknamed “The Watcher” is believed to haunt the wynd; people hear the
thump of his heavy footsteps or the jingling of keys before seeing his apparition.

 

 

An agonising cough is heard echoing from the top of the street.

People report hearing sounds of someone being “violently sick”.

Reports of women and children screaming in pain, have been heard in what is referred to
as “The Haunted Vault”.

Customers have had small items thrown at them such as stones and coins.
